Tree/Shrub Deep Root
Fertilization & Watering

Deep Root Fertilization is pressurized soil injection of a slow
release Nitrogen and Micronutrient fertilizer. This fertilizer is
suspended in water and injected every meter or so directly
into the root zone of the tree or shrub. This process not only
fertilizes the plant roots but also relieves compaction by
aerating the soil, allowing for better root growth and absorption
of oxygen, water and nutrients to ensure your trees health and
vigor.

Why deep root fertilization?

In addition to light, air water and space for the roots to grow,
growing plants need a supply of nutrients. Many plants com-
pete with each other for nutrients. Often trees and shrubs are
planted in limited areas or are heavily planted below the canopy
directly in the root zone. Grass can use much of the soils n
nutrients very rapidly, robbing trees and shrubs of their food
source, creating an unhealthy and slow growth plant.

Who needs deep root fertilization?

Trees suffering from insect or disease problems need help to
replenish their resources. Signs of weakened trees include
early leaf drop, dead wood or appear thin, and leaves that are
discolored, among other symptoms. Many stress problems are
caused by the inability of the tree to absorb the proper amounts
of nutrients, water or oxygen. Deep root feeding loosens soil
compaction and aids root absorption.

When to fertilize?

Spring and Fall are the best times to feed your trees as they are
actively growing. In the spring, trees sprout new leaves,
undergo stem elongation and experience overall growth. In the
fall, trees concentrate on root growth to store carbohydrates
for the winter months.
